Trendy Tragedy

How many times has some one said
"I'm so sorry for your loss", "I'm praying for you", "tell me what's wrong" "happy birthday" "pray for (insert country here)" "bring back our girls" (do you even know what girls?) and you feel like it's not genuine ?  A lot right ? I'm sure I'm gonna rub a few people the wrong way but , here's the tea... no need to call /text me on my birthday I'm sure you don't really care and if Facebook didn't remind you would you have even thought about it? It's an epidemic of "fake caring" or what I like to call 8 hour concern. I never would've thought Id see the day society would make actual care and concern a trend. It's not hard to tell who's really fighting for a cause , really happy for you, really concerned about your issue or being sincere with their congratulatory calls, text and post because they will always be consistent with these things . You won't see them supporting any and everything just because they saw it floating down their time line 50,00 times or a celebrity endorsed it. I always wonder when people "support" everything what actions have they taken to ignite change besides posting a Meme for a few hours then moving on to the next "trendy tragedy". We take serious issues and dumb them down so much with making jokes that ppl forget about the cause or concern within a few hours. I challenge you before you support a movement or rally behind someone  do your own research . Also Before you say "if you need anything call me" make sure you really mean it and If you say "I'm praying for you" make sure you really are.
